It is a known fact that we need to include a huge amount of vegetables and fruits in our diet in a daily basis. Many studies have already shown that increasing intake of fresh produce greatly helps in proper digestion and in preventing the development of serious diseases, such as cancer and heart ailments. In spite of this, many people still cannot include the right number of servings of fruits and vegetables in their diet because of their busy schedules. As a solution to this problem, some food companies have come up with a product, called the raw food bar, which is rich in vitamins and minerals and at the same time is ready to eat.

What are raw food bars?

Actually, the raw food bar looks like the common energy bar. However, raw food bars are usually made from uncooked fresh and organic ingredients. This healthy product, which is available in health shops and online stores, is an ideal snack for busy people who want to increase intake of fiber, fruits and vegetables. There are many types and makers of raw food bar, so you there are many varieties to choose from.

As the name implies, the raw food bar is made from raw ingredients. This product was a result of cold pressing a number of ingredients, including hemp, berries, and ginger. Not a single ingredient in this type of food snack should have been heated, baked or cooked in any manner.

Most, if not all, raw food bars that are available in the market are organic. They do not contain additives, extenders, preservatives, food coloring and flavor enhancers of any kind. This energy-boosting product also does not contain refined corn syrups, artificial sweeteners, refined sugar and saturated fat.

Raw Food Bar Versus Other Snack Bars

The first thing that sets raw food bar apart from any other snack bar is that it is packed with natural ingredients that is rich in vitamins and nutrients. Most candy and energy bars just contain a huge amount of refined sugar and preservatives that are not good for your body.

Although the raw food bar might look like any other snack bars, it is different because it did not undergo any heating process while it is made. It is 100% raw and natural so you can take full advantage of the fiber, minerals, and other healthy ingredients of fruits, nuts, and vegetables.

Candy and energy bars are known as energy boosters because they provide consumers with a sudden rush of energy. However, since most of these snack bars are made of refined sugar, you will end up having bouts of high and low levels of blood sugar, making you even more hungry and tired in the long run.

Raw food bars, on the other hand, do not use refined sugar and other artificial sweeteners. Only a small amount fruit nectars and honey are infused to raw food bars for added flavor. These organic snacks are ideal energy boosting snacks because they will provide you with good sources of carbohydrates, so you will feel fuller and energized longer.

Since the ingredients of raw food bars are low in fat, rich in whole grains and protein, they are ideal for people who are trying to lose weight. In contrast, most snack bars that are available in the market are rich in preservatives, corn syrup, hydrogenated fat, and other ingredients that are a no-no for people who are dieting.
